After a birth in Alsace, the Stud farm of Châtaignière settled down in the heart of the Regional Park of Morvan in the department of the Nièvre, just a step from Avallon, then decided at the beginning of 2006 to come down more to the South, just a step from Pyrenees in Tarn-et-Garonne.

Katell Lucas is in love with the Arabian horses for a long time. While she and her team take charge indefatigably of 90 present horses in the breeding, Katell pulls the horses which are entrusted to her for the show, the endurance and prepares the foals intended sometimes even for the races.

In term of equipments, the stud farm has a sans arena, an automatic walker, a covered shower fed with warm water, and two different stables: the stallions and the males on one side, females and foals of the other one, all this in a practical and functional spirit. In 2008, the stud farm equips itself with a brand new laboratory, to assure the inseminations and develop the taking of seed.

The Stud farm proposes permanently, besides its services of dressage, work and preparation of horses (show, endurance, race), of numerous horses for the sale, of the foal to the adult, for the show, the breeding, the sports competition and the leisure.

La Chataignière, it's also a stallion center with some of the most reknown Arabian pedigrees : Mystic Image (Padrons Immage x Siberia par Kubinec), Esta Esplanan (AS Natsir Apal x Eskarta par IBN Estasha), JJ Shakmal (El SHaklan x Hileezah El Jamaal par Ali Jamaal), Shamilah Vassili (Warandes Plakat x Shamilah Vassilisa par Nadir I) et la nouveauté 2008 AS Apal Start (Psytadel (US) x Saskia RJ (BE) par Plakat (SU)).
